Percale is a higher end sheet that consists of a thread count of two hundred or more, it describes the tightness of the weave and is not a blend of cotton and polyester, as some believe. Satin is made from pure silk and is very posh. The weave is very tight which gives it a soft luxurious feel. If purchasing satin, make sure you are getting pure silk. There are knockoffs around that are actually silk blended with polyester and is still called satin. If it matters to you then just be prudent when shopping.

Regardless of the type of water bed sheets you buy, they all must be looked after properly to ensure that you get many good years out of them. Remember, you do not have to wait until your local retailer puts their stock on sale, there are many online sellers offering excellent discounts.
